A file converter that actually respects your time

convertfiles.online is a small, independent tool that does one thing well: convert files between the 13 formats people actually need — without ads, watermarks, drip emails, or upgrade traps.

Why we built this

Every existing converter we tried did roughly the same thing — upload a file, wait through a loading screen, watch a paywall slide in at the last second, hand over an email to get a download link, then sit through retargeting ads for weeks.

We thought a converter should just be a converter. So we built one that does the work and then gets out of your way.

What we do differently

  • ✓Files are auto-deleted after one hour — original and output.
  • ✓No watermarks on free conversions. Ever.
  • ✓No email gate to download. No retargeting pixels.
  • ✓We never train models on your files or share them with third parties.
  • ✓Google sign-in is optional and only unlocks higher limits.

We deliberately picked the formats people actually convert: PDF, Word, Markdown, HTML, RTF, ODT, plain text, EPUB on the document side; JPG, PNG, WebP, SVG, and HEIC on the image side. Between them we support 82 directional conversion pairs.

Other tools advertise 200+ formats — most of which nobody uses. We focus on doing the common ones cleanly. PDF stays selectable, Word keeps its formatting, HEIC photos from your iPhone convert without you needing to know what HEIC is.

Under the hood

We do not wrap a third-party conversion API and call it a day. The heavy lifting happens on our own infrastructure using best-in-class open-source engines: LibreOffice and pandoc for documents, WeasyPrint for HTML/Markdown to PDF, Pillow and pillow-heif for raster images, CairoSVG for vector. Each conversion runs in an isolated worker job and the file is purged as soon as the retention window closes.

That is why files convert in seconds instead of minutes, and why we can promise that nothing about your file persists past the one-hour mark.

What we believe

Privacy is the default
Not a paid upgrade. Not a checkbox in settings. Files leave our servers within an hour, regardless of plan.
Speed beats features
Doing 82 conversions in seconds is more useful than offering 200 conversions that take a minute each.
Free should mean free
No watermark. No email wall. No 'free trial' that quietly auto-renews. If you need more, Pro exists — but you almost certainly do not.
Your inbox is yours
We do not sell email addresses, run drip campaigns, or send 'we miss you' emails. The only emails are transactional.
No model training on your files
Your documents are not training data. Not for us, not for anyone we work with.
Honesty about limits
If a conversion would lose information, we tell you. If a competitor does something better, we say so on our landing page.
