Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the convertfiles.online website and the file-conversion service available through it (together, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you confirm that you have the right and authority to enter into these Terms — on your own behalf, or on behalf of an organisation you represent.

You can use the Service as a guest without an account. If you choose to sign in with Google to unlock higher daily limits, you are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure. We rely on Google to authenticate you and do not see or store your Google password.

You can delete your account at any time from the account page. Deletion is permanent and removes your account record and associated metadata.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• upload, convert, or distribute content you do not have the right to handle, including content that infringes copyright, trademark, trade-secret, or other proprietary rights;
• upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, or constitutes child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — such content is reported to the relevant authorities;
• upload malware, exploits, or files designed to interfere with the Service or other users' systems;
• attempt to bypass rate limits, plan limits, or authentication — including by automated scripts, headless browsers, or multiple accounts;
• reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically copy the Service except where permitted by mandatory law;
• resell the Service or hold it out as your own product without a written agreement with us.

We may suspend or terminate access without notice for serious or repeated breaches.

Free guest and signed-in tiers are subject to daily limits stated on the Pricing page. We may adjust those limits, introduce new tiers, or modify pricing for the Pro tier with reasonable notice — at least 14 days for changes that negatively affect existing paying subscribers, communicated by email.

Pro is a monthly subscription, cancellable at any time from the account page or the Paddle billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds, cancellation effects, and statutory withdrawal rights are described in our Refund Policy.

Pro subscriptions are sold and billed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited and its affiliates) acting as the merchant of record. Paddle, not us, is the seller of record for the payment transaction shown on your card or bank statement.

By completing checkout you also accept Paddle's checkout terms, available at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms. Those terms apply to the payment transaction itself, alongside these Terms which govern your use of the Service.

Paddle calculates, collects, and remits any applicable VAT, GST, or US sales tax. Paddle issues your invoice and receipt. For billing questions — invoice copies, tax-ID changes, payment method updates, or refund processing — please use the Paddle billing portal linked from your receipt, or contact us at refunds@convertfiles.online and we will coordinate with Paddle on your behalf.

You retain all rights in the files you upload ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to receive, process, and convert Your Content, and to deliver the converted output back to you. This licence exists solely to operate the Service and ends when Your Content is deleted under our retention policy.

We do not use Your Content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate machine-learning models. We do not share Your Content with third parties for any purpose other than executing the conversion you requested. Files are deleted within one hour. See the Privacy Policy for details.

The Service — including the website, design, code, brand, and accompanying materials — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or domain names.

The Service incorporates open-source software components, each governed by its own licence. Nothing in these Terms restricts your rights under those licences.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

File conversion is best-effort. Some properties of the source format cannot survive conversion to certain target formats (for example, editable text in image formats, or transparency in formats that do not support it). We do not warrant that conversions will be perfect, lossless, or visually identical.

This section does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law, including statutory rights you have as a consumer in the EU/EEA, the UK, or your local jurisdiction.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data, arising out of or in connection with the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total cumulative liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to liability, or (b) fifty US dollars (US$50).

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) Your Content, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property or privacy right.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service to you creates an unreasonable risk. Where reasonable, we will give prior notice. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution — survive.

We may update these Terms. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, notify signed-in users by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia (the country in the Caucasus region), without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts of Georgia, except that consumers in the EU/EEA, the UK, and Switzerland may also bring proceedings in their country of residence and rely on mandatory local consumer-protection law that cannot be derogated from by agreement.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
